According to Amazon, the supplements are distributed by NutriPharm LLC, based in the United States. However, as indicated in some of the websites, Apidren is manufactured by Advantage Nutraceuticals, still based in the United States. So, that raises a few questions:

• Who is the manufacturer?
• Why so much ambiguity in the information provided?
• Why is Apidren not among the list of products found in NutriPharm website?

Well, this review tries to uncover the truth about this peculiar weight loss supplement.

I have no idea.

As aforementioned, NutriPharm LLC is the official distributor, at least according to the information found on the Apidren supplement bottle.  NutriPharm is the distributor, but it’s not clear who manufactures the supplements– whether it made in the United States or China. (NutriPharm partners with Chinese manufacturers). However, according to the website, these supplements are manufactured in the US in a GMP approved facility.

Interestingly, the official website, indicates the manufacturing Company as Advantage Nutraceuticals, LLC, based in Utah or rather that is the returning address on the website. Advantage Nutraceuticals doesn’t seem to have a website!

Additionally, Apidren does not appear in the list of ingredients provided in the NutriPharm website.

It seems next to impossible to ascertain who manufactures Apidren and if there are other types of supplements available.

4. Ingredients Used

Apidren contains CardiaSlim, a herbal blend

Apidren is formulated with CardiaSlim, a patented herbal blend from InterHealth USA (currently part of Lonza).

CardiaSlim is made of Sphaeranthus Indicus and Garcinia Mangostana. According to the InterHealth website, the herbal blend has been tested in three randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled studies.

The study showed that the formulation improved cardiovascular health and promote weight loss.

Another clinical study was carried out in 2013 to evaluate the tolerability of Sphaeranthus Indicus and Garcinia Mangostana in weight management. This double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involved 100 obese human subjects. The randomized group received:

• 400 mg of the herbal blend or identical placebo capsules twice a day
• Three meals or 2000 kcal/day
• Moderate exercise.

The outcome was weight loss. The subjects reported 5.2 kgs in eight weeks. Furthermore, there was a reduction in waist circumference and redistribution of body fat.

However, when it comes to the type of body fat lost, the study was effective in reducing visceral fat over the subcutaneous fat tissue.

Note: Visceral fat is unseen and usually surround the body organs. Subcutaneous fat is seen and can only be lost through exercise.
